供职于某大型建筑公司的辻井高史（原田泰造饰）和圭子（檀丽饰）是一对结婚十年的夫妇，他们相敬如宾，恩爱如初。某天，高史拿着一个从没见过的行李箱回到家中，且神色十分慌张。他自称要带着绝密资料去熊本出差，但圭子偶然见到箱子里藏有巨款。不久后，高史乘坐的飞机坠毁，而他本人以为刚好在机场遇到了情人川上妙子（内山理名饰），从而错过航班逃过一劫。全然不知情的惊恐万分圭子，她来到丈夫的公司咨询情况，从他的上司口中得知意外的真相。几经周折，她终于发现了丈夫还活在世上的事实…… 本片曾拍摄过电影版，之后也曾三度被改编成电视剧。。During the 1977 El Salvadoran presidential election, public unrest is at an all-time high over fears of election fraud.
